Airbus Defence and Space has developed within several projects a modular approach for ground-based Navigation Signal Generators for Galileo or GPS based pseudolite systems flexible to be setup according to customers needs. The variety comprises the quality of the reference clock, the degree of autonomy regarding the generation of Navigation data, the number of signals to be generated simultaneously, their modulation schemes, number of sub-channels, carrier frequency, transmission bandwidth and output power range. To overcome near-far problems the output signal can be generated in a pulsed manner. All code generators are memory-based and each signal generation unit provides synchronization features to an external OPPS pulse. Beside the two standard products as shown left, customer-specific modifications are possible with minor impact because of the flexibility of the design.
